Placement Test - It is essential that all students are placed into a suitable class level. For this reason we administer placement tests to new students in grammatical ability, vocabulary, speaking and listening comprehension skills.
Ancilliary Classes - All students on the standard course are entitled to join afternoon ancilliary classes in IELTS, Cambridge Exam Preparation, Conversation, Grammar and English for Academic Purposes.
Conversation Club - All enrolled students are welcome to join this club, where they can put language into practice in an informal environment. A teacher will be present to guide club members and offer support with the intention of maximising each student's potential in spoken English.
Welfare - Alpha International recognises that living and studying in a foreign country can sometimes be stressful, especially at first. Students have access to our Welfare Officer with whom they can discuss any difficulties they may encounter in adapting to life in the United Kingdom. Our aim is to ensure your stay with us is happy, productive, comfortable and rewarding.
Airport Transfers - Students can be greeted on arrival at London Heathrow, Gatwick or Stansted airports and taken to their host family, campus or hotel accommodation. (If you require this service please complete the relevant section on our enrolment form) Cost £90 per person - single journey. £50 supplement for second person.
Self-Access Centre - The latest self-study materials and past exam papers are available with readers, pronunciation tapes, grammar books, vocabulary building resources, etc. Students are welcome to make use of the centre in school hours. A member of staff will be on hand to provide support and assistance.
Certificate of Achievement - Students who successfully complete their course will be awarded a course completion certificate.
Discount Travel/Oyster Card - Available via the School Administrator's Office. Students must satisfy the criteria set down by Transport Trading Limited to qualify.
School Cafeteria - The school cafeteria has a seating capacity for around 120 students. It provides reasonably priced hot and cold refreshments throughout the day and has a television and pool table. It is a popular centre of social activity for students.
